12/20/00 Martha Furnace Hike
I ended up leading someone else's hike from Evans bridge today. Only four of us braved the snow to come out. The day was as close to perfect as they get -- there was only an inch or so of snow so the walking was easy, and temperatures were comfortable for this time of year.
Along an old sand road between the Wading river and Harrisville pond, I coundn't resist making some pictures of the pines in the snow. To view a larger image, click on the picture you want to see. Return to this page by clicking on "Back".
On the way back, we passed the reservoir on the canal between the Wading river and Harrisville pond. Here's what the ice looked like...
And here's are valiant crew: Lou, George, and John.
