Views on nearby trails, April 10 and 16, 2005


So far I have walked about 15 miles of trails, all of which are within a couple of miles of our house. Now that's its spring, I thought some pictures might be in order...

I always thought that cat brier was bad stuff until I discovered the thorns in the picture -- these are really nasty because they're barbed. The picture after that shows a small spring in the side of the hill below our house. Outside of the Jack-in-the-pulpet, the ferns and the skunk cabbage, I leave it to others to identify the plants...

One of the pictures is of our stream... It's not much of a stream, but it's our stream!

Oh yeah, for the south Jersey people, the big grey thing is called a rock. Rocks are hard and heavy. The stone fence in the picture is made out of rocks. Why there is a stone fence in the middle of our property is a mystery to me...
